Amazing Zombie Defense passed certification

Wednesday 29 December 2010 at 3:06 pm Well, the game was certified yesterday and it's now available for download on Windows Phone 7. Hopefully it's going to earn back $600 I spend on the phone :).

Here's WP7 gameplay video if you're interested:

Amazing Zombie Defense going for PC!

Friday 24 December 2010 at 3:17 pm It just got accepted for PC distribution on a pretty new digital distribution service - Desura. Since the game already runs smoothly on Xbox 360, all I need to do adjust the user interface to use mouse, support various screen resolutions and it should be ready for release in a couple of days. You can check the game's profile here. It's going to be released at $3 since on PC market it's still one of lowest prices and I don't have to worry about Top Downloads list that much (on XBLIG you either stay on Top Downloads list or sell nothing). I'm not expecting to see great numbers, the service is not big yet - it just came out from beta stage, but I see potential for growth - it looks community oriented, and has got ModDB and IndieDB's support. Obviously I'd like to enter Steam and other big PC services like Impulse and D2D, but it looks that they're too big to care about games like mine. Desura might be the best opportunity I have to enter PC market.

Meanwhile I joined an artist who's working on a game that's already in development for two years - Oozi: Earth Adventure. It turned out that the previous programmer wasn't able to spend enough amount of time to get the game finished because of his day job. You can check the game's dev blog for progress updates.

Amazing Zombie Defense for WP7 is still in certification. I'll certainly write about it when it gets released.

Amazing Zombie Defense submitted for certification.

Tuesday 14 December 2010 at 8:05 pm Today I finished polishing Windows Phone 7 version of Yet Another Zombie Defense and just submitted it to Microsoft for certification. Hopefully it's going to be available for download in a few days. It's going to be priced at $1.99 for US market and €1.99 on EU market.

Why have I changed the name of the game? The main reason was that only part of the name is displayed on WP7 marketplace browser - so it might ended up looking like "Yet Another Zo". Another reason is that on WP7 I'm unable to contrast generic name with high quality box cover since WP7 game icon is only 99x99 pixels. It did the trick on Xbox, where the gamer was intrigued why a game like this is called "Yet Another". On WP7 it was just too risky.

Below is a couple of screenshots - obviously they don't look as good as Xbox version, but I'm still pretty happy with them - it's just a mobile device and even EA games don't look amazing here. I'm going to record a video tomorrow, now I need some rest after few last days' work.

My website

Thursday 09 December 2010 at 12:51 pm Hello everyone.
This is website about my games development effort. I decided to start it just to make my "press releases" look a bit more professional - these days any developer who doesn't have a website looks quite amateurish. Hope that at least a few people will find it interesting :).
